Precision Refurbishment for Classic Marine Parts
We offer a specialist inspection and refurbishment service for customers who want to restore and preserve original marine engine components.
This service is primarily for customers who already own parts and would like them professionally inspected, repaired or restored where possible. Our goal is always reliability, safety and long-term performance.
Our Refurbishment Approach
Every component we work on is treated with care and engineering respect. We understand the importance of maintaining original marine parts correctly, particularly for classic and discontinued engines.
Our refurbishment process may include:
-
Full inspection and assessment of the component
-
Removal of rust, corrosion and old coatings
-
Careful cleaning and preparation of surfaces
-
Inspection of mating surfaces and tolerances
-
Checking O-rings, seals and sealing faces
-
Pressure and seal testing where applicable
All work is carried out with attention to reliability and suitability for real marine conditions.
Protective Coatings & Finishing
Where appropriate, components are refinished using high-quality marine-grade coatings including durable 2K alkyd protective finishes designed to withstand harsh marine environments.
Surfaces are properly prepared before coating to ensure long-term adhesion and corrosion resistance.
Specialist Engine Component Work
We are able to assist with specialist restoration and engineering support for classic marine engines, including:
-
Reseating cylinder head valves
-
Testing and assessing original Volvo injectors and similar legacy components
-
Repairing cast iron components where structurally appropriate
-
Repairing brass housings such as thermostat housings
-
Addressing corrosion damage and external casting issues
-
Inspection and repair of cracked outer jackets or housings where viable
Many modern workshops no longer work on these legacy components, but we continue to support owners of classic marine engines wherever possible.
Important Note on Parts We Sell
While we offer refurbishment and engineering support for customer-owned components, we maintain a strict policy regarding the parts we sell through our store.
We do not sell repaired structural engine components.
If a part in our store is listed for sale, it will be either:
-
Genuine OEM in reliable condition, or
-
New replacement or approved improved component
Our refurbishment work is provided as a service to help customers restore their own parts.
We believe in supplying only the highest confidence components for direct sale so that our customers can buy with complete peace of mind.
